Are mobile devices ruining our eyes? What are the harmful effects of excessive use of mobile devices, especially on children? With the growing popularity of mobile devices, most of us spend more and more of our time interacting with the world on small glowing screens. Little did we know, overusing gadgets such as of laptop computers, tablets, and cell phones have underlying effects, especially in our eyes. With that in mind, a 4-year-old girl almost lost her sight after using a cell phone for a long period of time.

Her parent narrated that when she was only a toddler, she gave her daughter a cellphone because she was also busy. But she noticed a gradual problem on her daughter's health but she didn't think that it has a connection with using a cell phone.

Her daughter eventually needed eye glasses and when she turned 4 years old, she needed a surgery.
This poor little girl can't see clearly and her dad realized that it's probably a result of overusing cellphone, putting her eyes in danger.

Dr. Rawat Sichangsirikarn, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, said that "excessive screen time" have serious effects on the physical and mental health of a child.

We hope that this will become a warning to parents or guardians who give their children gadgets at a very young age.
