Almost every day we experience mild to strong body pain. However, these body pains aren't given much attention since it isn't an indicator of some serious medical or health problem.

Not all pains should be disregarded and labeled as just 'minor pains.' There are some pains that are indicators and signs for health conditions you shouldn't ignore.

The thorough examination of the pain you are experiencing would be beneficial to you and to identify what does it really mean.


These are five pains, you may want to give full attention to:

1. Leg cramps

Leg cramps might be simply due to the wrong sleep position, dehydration, wrong footwear used, overworked muscles and more. However, this might also be a symptom for having DVT or Deep Vein Thrombosis.


DVT is a condition wherein blood clot/s can be found in one or more veins in the leg. This clot prevents blood from flowing, therefore, causes cramps or pain in the leg area. Consult your doctor as soon as possible to make sure that your cramps aren't caused by DVT.


2. Sudden Chest pain


Chest pain was and never will be a good sign since it's close to our heart. This may be a sign for heart attack, vein or capillary blockages or pulmonary embolism. Upon experiencing this, consult your doctor as soon as possible to point out the cause of this pain.

3. Headache


There are lots of headache types and reasons too. Mild pain can be caused by migraine. However, headaches can cause vomiting, double vision or even stiff neck. It is best to have yourself checked for it might be a symptom of a ruptured aneurysm which might threaten your life.

4. Lower Back Pain


This may be caused by wrong sleep position, poor posture, lifting heavy loads or even kidney stones. Having kidney stones requires immediate medical attention since it may worsen if left untreated.

5. Dysmenorrhea


Period cramps are normal during menstruation. However, it isn't normal if the intensity of pain would range from 8-10. This might be an early sign for endometriosis, a condition where the period lining goes to other parts of the body rather than outside of the body. Contact your OB-Gyne as soon as possible.

Listen to what your body is trying to say and acknowledge it.
